A Haven for All Beings, All Bodies and All Stages of Life
Mission Statement:
This is a space where those of us who choose to be a part of and create family in unique ways can gather, support each other, and exist as we are in community. Family is a broad term that expresses the myriad ways people support and love one another. Familihood is the intentional practice of these values. As queer folks, these practices culminate in a vibrant tapestry of interconnection focused on creating safe space and safe experiences for our community.
Upcoming Events
We are excited to announce that we will be hosting our 1st online Art Auction. Which will be open for bidding from September 8- October 18. Our goal is to raise the funds to finish renovating Sweet Water Family Wellness Center by adding the remaining lighting needed as well as purchase supplies. We have been able to complete a lot over this past month but still need supplies and equipment for our birth and soul midwife practice, as well as tables and chairs for our event space/classroom.
Our desire is to host our first donation-based chair yoga class with Cheryle Lloyd on September 21st, but currently we do not have the funds to purchase the proper chairs needed.
To achieve our goal of fully opening the center, our goal is to raise $5500 with the auction. Starting bids range from $25-$111 with Art mediums ranging from Oil painting, Oil pastel, Acrylic, Charcoal, Graphite, and Watercolor.
You can participate by donating to our GoFundMe and email us at welcome@sweetwaterslc.com what art piece you are bidding on after donating.

Sawubona God-desses,

"Throughout my life, I've learned that while many factors are beyond our control, we always have the power to choose our behavior. My professional passion centers on the biopsychosocial model and the influence of work-life balance on overall well-being. I believe it's never too late to make positive changes, as research shows our behavior is the most powerful factor in determining our health. My personal fitness philosophy is built on the vital connection between flexibility, muscle strength, and overall well-being. After experiencing a serious injury, I saw firsthand how maintaining mobility through exercise can improve the quality of daily life and aid in recovery. Beyond the physical benefits, I believe exercise is crucial for emotional health, helping to alleviate stress and promote relaxation. My approach to chair yoga blends disciplines like Pilates, yoga, and endurance training, all adapted for a seated application that builds strength and endurance using one's own body."
Sawubona God-desses,
Self Love is how we show up for ourselves and there are times where it is hard to find that extra boost to help us get through those hard days. Whether you are facing burnout, stress, pressures of your many hats or finding yourself.
This event will help you to refill your cup and water your soul garden.
"Each and every day we are changing and shaping our reality. When life presents us with transitions it doesn't always come with a gentle breeze. There are times where we have been forced to face our realities and the writing on the wall couldn't be any clearer, but our fears of the unknown keep us stagnant. Self-acceptance isn't just for body image. Self-acceptance is a whole body inside and out journey. When you are faced with life altering situations it is up to you to decide on how you will proceed if you choose to."

Bring pot of water to a boil.
Add in a block of previously frozen tofu, chopped carrots, onions, celery, garlic, ginger, salt pepper and oregano.
Boil for 30 minutes.
Take out the tofu and press out the liquid.
Dice tofu into 1/2in cubes.
Sauté in oil to create a crust, then add in onions, and diced pineapple.
Sauté for 10 minutes, rotating the tofu pieces to sear all around.
Turn off heat, add rice wine vinegar, liquid aminos and honey to pan and mix around the tofu.
Strain out the veggies and add to a blender, add 1/2 c of the cooking liquid and 1/4 cup of pineapple and blend to a purée.
Cover the bottom of the plate with purée, add a scoop of white rice to the middle, sprinkle some sesame seeds and parsley on top.
Add tofu and serve.
Drizzle with hot sauce or honey as desired.
Rinse 2 cups of black eyed peas. Add peas and half an onion, diced, for 20 minutes. Salt the water like pasta water, then boil for another 10-15 minutes until soft. If you add the salt too soon the peas won’t soften.
In another pan, sauté onions, carrots, celery, garlic, and ginger. Season with salt and pepper.
Shred the collard green leaves to desired thickness. I prefer 1/4in or smaller so it cooks faster. Rinse thoroughly and let soak in water while the veggies soften.
Season the veggies with onion powder, garlic powder and cayenne. When soft, add in drained collard leaves. Add a splash of rice wine vinegar, and a drizzle of honey to taste.
At the very end, add a diced tomato. Serve with chopped cashews and pumpkin seeds for extras nutrients and protein.
